Russian illegal prison on IZOLYATSIA premises has been operational for 10 years.

IZOLYATSIA represented by Pavel Gukov took part in the round table “Use of Terrikons” (with participation of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany) at Donbass National Academy Of Architecture And Civil Engineering, Makeyevka.

The reports were mainly about technical aspects of reconstruction and use of waste heaps. A report of Arne van den Brink “Terrikons as a place of interest : nature, culture and tourism” was like a breath of fresh air, as the report dealt with many problems which we face ourselves.

Our report “Use of terrikons in the creative industry. From the Donbass symbol to the eco-creative village» has also evoked interest, where the terrikon as a fascinating object for art and tourism is a beautiful and integral part of the future “creative village” in the Izolyatsia territory.

Our concept of the “creative village” evolves around creativity and art (art center) and is connected to architecture, ecology, sustainability and harvesting of natural resources, educational programs and other things it needs to be a place for the creative to flourish. We plan to transform the forgotten relict of the mining industry into a rest zone and a stage for our events, for display of art works. And what a fascinating view of the industrial kingdom opens from the top of our terrikon. A terrikon should be a unique and characteristic part of the city, rather than remain \'sore\' remainders of the once and currently prosperous industry.
