Ukraine is under siege following a full-scale military invasion by Russia on 24 February 2022

On October 25, at 7 PM, IZOLYATSIA presents the artist talk by animator Nikita Lyskov. Nikita has worked in animation for more than 10 years without any budget support and government funding. He strongly promotes the auteur non-commercial animation, conducts lectures, film screenings about the history of animation, has organised and curated workshops at the School of the Auteur Animation in Dnipro.

Nikita was born in 1983 in Dnipro. He studied painting at the Art School and graduated from the Karpenko-Kary University in 2012, with a degree of an animation director. A few weeks ago, his animated film I Bought a Bike received the Grand Prix of the De Kino festival, and his new work The End will be shown at the Molodist Film Festival.

At the artist talk, Nikita will show his animated movies, describe in detail the process of creation, tell where he gets his ideas and why it is important to create auteur animation in today’s Ukraine.

The event will take place at 8 Naberezhno-Luhova Street, Fourth floor.
