Ukraine is under siege following a full-scale military invasion by Russia on 24 February 2022

On February the 26th Lena Siyatovska will talk about the latest works that was created in Poland, and during residences in Mariupol and Berlin.

Lena Siyatovska is an artist, works with new media, performance, installation and graphics. Her main interest lies in the topics of social relations, consumption culture and the processes of post-Soviet transformations.

Born in the Czech Republic, raised in the Dnieper, lives and works in Kyiv. Lena studied at the Dnieper National University named after Oles Honchar at the Faculty of Philology and Art History, later at the University of Arts in Poznan. In 2019, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of Poland, Gaude Polonia. She participated in exhibitions and residences in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Germany.

 

 

Art Wednesdays in February will be hold as a part of Coming Out of Isolation 2.0, a residency aimed at the elimination of discrimination, xenophobia and prejudice towards members of the LGBT+ community in Ukraine.

Art Wednesday is a series of events by IZOLYATSIA. The project aims to create relaxed atmosphere of communication for creative people. The format of the event is determined by the participants themselves: it can be a presentation, an exhibition, a film show, a performance, a lecture or a discussion. Art Wednesday was initiated in order to provide space for creative people to present various artistic practice and share information about current research, ideas and events.


Сoming out of Іsolation 2.0 — a long-term project created in collaboration IZOLYATSIA with KyivPride and supported by Human Rights Fund 2019. 

The project consists of several stages: one month residency; pitching of projects created within the residence; determining the winners, which will receive small grants amounting to 50 thousand hryvnias for implementation of their projects. In addition, during the residency, workshops and lectures  for the residents and/or a broader public audience will be conducted by invited lecturers.

During summer — autumn 2020 video works will be presented in regions of Ukraine and will be included to Gurtobus and Kyiv PrideWeek (in Ukrainian — PrideTyzhden) programs.
