June 26 Ukrainian artist Dobrinya Ivanov will hold an artist-talk and present his videowork titled White Flag at june’s last Art-Wednesday.
White Flag - is a series of short films about a person who travels across Ukraine with a white flag, making a parliamentary pilgrimage. The project is a portrait of a belligerent country, that does not have a strong central authority. It leads civil activity to a more basic organizational communication, and the challenges of the present require constant dialogue.
Dobrinya Ivanov is a Kyiv-born artist and painter, a student of Aleksandr Babak’s studio, now he mostly works with sculpture and installations. Since year 2009 Dobrinya is a member of the YA Gallery’s Genofond project. In 2013 he was nominated for Henkel Art.Award and became a Kiev Air resident. Dobrinya holded 3 solo exhibitions in Lviv and Kyiv and participated in several group exhibitions. His works were shown in PinchukArtCentre, Gogolfest in Kyiv, National Art Museum, Odessa Biennale as well as abroad: in Germany, Austria, Lithuania.
