What is ethnic? Lecture by Andrey Korova

What are the differences of ethnic (traditional, authentic, "popular") music from what we used to call music? Why is it so different from all the rest? Is it possible to understand traditional music without any knowledge about particular culture and language? Why is it so exciting? Is it exotic? Are we able to create something similar today? What has our sound industry made ​​with traditional music?
