Ukraine is under siege following a full-scale military invasion by Russia on 24 February 2022

Saturday, 6th of October, IZOLYATSIA invites everyone to attend a lecture by two Ukrainian artists Yulia Kostereva and Yura Kruchak who will talk about their recent participation in one of the Korean art residencies.

This summer Kostereva and Kruchak took part in a Korean art residency organized by the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul. Having just returned to Ukraine the artists are eager to share their impressions about the contemporary art in Korea as well as to talk about their own project executed during their residency.

Yulia Kostereva and Yura Kruchak have been working together since their studies at the Kharkiv State Art School, then the Kharkiv Art and Industry Institute, and the National Academy of Art and Architecture in Kyiv. Kostereva\'s and Kruchak\'s art projects fall into the sphere of “relational aesthetics”. Their art interventions and public happenings revolve around some pressing social issues relevant to the communities these two artists interact with.

The art duo serves as a founding member of Khudrada, a Ukrainian curatorial art collective. They also boast an extensive record of exhibition history in Ukraine and abroad. Among their recent exhibition engagements are: MindWare. Lublin, Poland; Invisible generation, Vision Forum, Norrköping, Sweden; This is the Future Before it Happened, The Glendale College Art Gallery, Los Angeles, USA 2009; Ukrainian Citizens and Strangers, Queens Nails Annex Gallery, San Francisco, USA 2008. The artists also took part in multiple residencies in Zadar Croatia 2011, Geneva, Switzerland 2009 and Vienna, Austria 2009 to name a few. In 2011 they were nominated alongside other five nominees for the Henkel Art Award.
