Readings by Olena Herasymiuk in Mariupol
On November 28, at 4 pm poet Olena Herasymiuk will read her poetry in Mariupol. The event is held within the framework of ZMINA initiative by IZOLYATSIA.
Readings will feature Herasymiuk’s recent poem Prison Song. The piece deals with grave social issues, showing the insides of a Ukrainian prison – from fame to arrest to interrogations and sentence.
Olena Herasymiuk is a poet, essayist and translator, literary discovery 2013. Laureate of several Ukrainian and international literary prizes, she was also the first participant of the Ukrainian writers’ residency Stanislavsky Phenomenon (2013). Herasymiuk’s poetry has been translated into nine languages.
The reading will take place in Mariupol, at the Central Korolenko Library, 93b Lenin Avenue.
