"Our" Mariupol

Mariupol city. Right at the city entrance we are encountering steel worker monument, blazing asphalt and our friends from "Dipkorpus" youth organization. It\'s members along with the head of organization Yana Verteba, are showing around "their" Mariupol, bridges and streets close to IlychSteelworks and Azovstal, fed us at local factory canteen and led us to sea port and city beaches.

While photographers are having intence discussions on potential influence of photography on ecological conscience and on unique contrast between smoking industrial monsters of te city, and calmness of city beach with normal yellow umbrellas and children playing around, we are taken to local Youth Palace for the presentation of IZOLYATSIA to all of interested people and as informal communication with local people as possible.

Mariupol surpized us with it\'s vast interest to contemporary art in general and to photography in particular. More then 60 participants of presentation (who were invited just in two days before the event), 2 hours of event duration (which were extened with questions and discussions), representatives of 2 local newspapers and 2 news internet portals, and one tv-channel.

After intence day, and after tasting cold kvas and local obligatory chichirs, and while still having conversation about ecology, we are tired and full of new impressions (and photos). We are thankful to youth organization "Dipkorpus", Yana, Maxim and everyone who were helping with organizing the event.
