On Sunday, February 28, at 12 pm, as part of the poster exhibition Sonia Delaunay 130 by IZOLYATSIA, Seri/graph studio organises a screen printing workshop inspired by the work of Sonia Delaunay.
Sonia Delaunay worked extensively with textile and print, experimenting with various techniques, most importantly with screen printing. Seri/graph studio invites everyone to create their own print, inspired by Delaunay’s aesthetics. The attendants will have the opportunity to learn about the theory and history of silk-screen printing and artists who have worked in this technique, as well as discover how this type of printing was appropriated by the art world. In the practical part of the workshop, using Sonia Delaunay’s works as a point of departure, the guests will create their own images, going through all stages, from preparing the stencil to a finalised pressing of their works. Apart from printing on paper, the attendants will work with several types of textile, and in the end, everyone will take away their own prints, as well as two bags with self-made pictures.
The workshop will be held at IZONE creative community, 8 Naberezhno-Luhova Street, Fourth Floor.
