Russian illegal prison on IZOLYATSIA premises has been operational for 10 years.

On Saturday, February 6, at 1 pm, IZOLYATSIA presents an artist talk and curator’s tour of the exhibition Reconstruction of Memory.

The exhibition’s curator Andrii Dostliev will discuss with artists Yulia Polunina-But and Viktor Corwic the background of the Reconstruction of Memory project, personal stories of its participants and their works. They will be joined via Skype by the curator Lia Dostlieva who will speak about trauma in art. After the discussion, Andrii Dostliev will make a tour around the exhibition.

The Reconstruction of Memory project, opening on February 4, 6 pm, at IZOLYATSIA, has been created by artists hailing from Crimea and Donbas, currently occupied by the Russian Federation. Each participant of the exhibition tells about the experience of loss of their material memory and history, using all the available artistic media to analyse the possibility of reconstructing their own memorabilia.

The event will take place at 8 Nabarezhno-Luhova Street, Second Floor.
