Accessible Design for Cultural Online Projects
On June 30, from 16:00 to 17:30 Kyiv time, IZOLYATSIA Foundation invites you to an online lecture "Accessible Design for Cultural Online Projects". Cultural managers and everyone who plans or implements new digital cultural products will learn how to work with accessibility on the web so that as many people as possible can use their work.
Due to Russia's full-scale invasion, cultural organizations are losing physical collections, access to communities and artifacts, and are increasingly moving online. More and more organizations are creating new digital products: platforms, archives, databases, virtual spaces, digital collections, educational sites and other interactive resources. Digital products must be accessible to everyone — people with different needs, devices, and levels of connectivity — and this often requires additional attention and knowledge.
Ukrainian designer Kit Oliynyk will speak about the history and importance of accessibility in online products, why this is especially critical during wartime, and what cultural managers should know and demand from their developers at the planning stage.
Speaker
Kit Oliynyk is a designer, mentor, design team leader, speaker and inventor with 20 years of experience. He has worked with financial institutions and government agencies, mentoring over 100 designers. He is a non-profit founder, a karate black belt, and a father of three.
The lecture takes place within CTMP (The Cultural Transformation Movement Project) — a four-year initiative of the Trans Europe Halles network. Partners: Brunnenpassage (Austria), VIERNULVIER (Belgium), Zo centro culture contemporanee (Italy) and IZOLYATSIA.
