IZOLYATSIA congratulates zhuzhalka group on winning the art projects competition, co-produced by Villa Arson (Nice). The collective will get the opportunity to exhibit their works at Galerie Carrée, part of Villa Arson, from June 6 to August 29, 2016.

During the open call, we have received 46 applications by individual artists and groups from all over Ukraine. Most of the applications featured personal exhibitions, but there were also several curatorial group projects. According to the decision by the panel of experts from IZOLYATSIA and Villa Arson, a new project by zhuzhalka art collective was selected.

For the exhibition in Nice, the group presented their new project Blue Sky Catastrophe, exploring the notion of social catastrophe. The exhibition is a study of conditions necessary for a society to undergo drastic transformations of its structure, including its values, culture, and ways of interaction. Reflecting on their personal experience of going through such critical points, the participants of zhuzhalka collective have shaped their ideas into an exhibition project borrowing its name from the contemporary physical theory.

The zhuzhalka art group was founded in 2012 in Donetsk by Victor Corwic, Viacheslav Sokolov and Roman Yuhimchuk.
