Russian illegal prison on IZOLYATSIA premises has been operational for 10 years.

On September 2 - September 20, 2019, artist Olga Ganzha will be a new participant of the IZOLYATSIA Residency Programme.

Olga Ganzha is multimedia artist who currently lives and works in The Netherlands. Her works range from photography, graphics and artist’s book to texts and audio-visual installations. Olga received her MA in Linguistics and Literature from Volgograd state university (RU) and a BA in Graphic Design from St.Joost Art Academy in Hertogenbosch (NL). Nowadays Olga works on autonomous projects, balancing on the edge of design and art. She participated in number of exhibitions and collaborative projects in the Netherlands, England, Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Russia.

During her residency at IZOLYATSIA, Olga will work on her artistic research project My Armed Mothers. This research based on the mother archetype and monumental history of Post-Soviet countries. It takes biggest Mother-Motherland monuments of four countries: Russia (90 meters), Georgia (22 meters), Armenia (54 meters) and Ukraine (102 meters), and researches their historical, visual, social, cultural and spiritual parallels. Project My Armed Mothers is supported by Mondriaan Fund, Wilhelmina E. Jansen Fund and i-Portunus mobility grant.

On September 17, at 7PM, Olga will give an Artist Talk at the IZONE Creative Community, vul. Naberezhno-Luhova 8.
