No Outside: Criticism and Reporting in the Cultural Field

Image titleOn March 17, 2015 at 19.00 IZOLYATSIA.Platform for cultural initiatives hosts a talk No Outside: Criticism and Reporting in the Cultural Field with Mostafa Heddaya, an American writer and editor. The event will be in a Q&A format and will address cultural reporting and criticism.

In Ukraine, the idea of journalism in the cultural field is mainly reduced to news reports on the facts of the event, and what is called the criticism is often a relaying of the author's taste preferences, and an evaluation in the form of likes/dislikes. IZOLYATSIA begins an open conversation about the challenges and opportunities within cultural journalism and is planning a series of meetings with international experts from the field. During the first meeting IZOLYATSIA’s guest, Mostafa Heddaya, will talk about journalism, which requires knowledge of the context, as well as the ability to find relationships between culture, politics and society.
