A couple of months ago we were contacted by a representative of the Presidential Administration, and we had a meeting, which was held in the IZOLYATSIA office, in industrial area of Podol.
It was an interesting conversation about the status of culture, namely about the development of modern art. At that time IZOLYATSIA was preparing the exhibition in Paris at Palais de Tokyo, a leading contemporary art institution in France. In fact it is an example of what Mystetskyi Arsenal can and should become.
Mystetskyi Arsenal should take a leading role in rethinking social processes, developing mechanisms of interaction with different professional environments where ideas are cultivated and a cultural product is created, as well in finding appropriate forms of cooperation between all agents of the cultural process.
This project is an expression of the ambitions of a country and its cultural capacity. It is important for us now. That is why I accepted the offer to join the Council on development of Mystetskyi Arsenal, although I didn’t have any details, and no information on who the other candidates for the members of the Council were.
