Image titleIZOLYATSIA continues to conduct educational and cultural projects in Eastern Ukraine.

The foundation's mission is to realise cultural initiatives, which promote social changes.Since the beginning of 2015, IZOLYATSIA has regularly initiated the ZMINA project in the anti-terrorist operation zone, including the City of Mariupol.

The project includes a series of educational and creative initiatives, inspiring people in Eastern Ukraine to continue the development of the culture whilst building connections between communities.Mariupol was selected by the curators of Architecture Ukraine residences program as the main platform for research in the field of urbanism, including architecture, sociology and anthropology.

In July 2015 IZOLYATSIA's team and participants of Architecture Ukraine spent five days in Mariupol, collecting material for research relative to their individual projects. Material will be processed until the end of August in Kyiv, and the intermediate results will be represented as an exhibition, visualising the findings.

Over the next year, the projects will be completed and some of them will be realised in Mariupol.Formed and established in Donetsk in 2010, IZOLYATSIA continues to focus its activities on the development of local communities, located remotely from the centre. After the seizure of the foundations territory in Donetsk by the representatives of the DPR, IZOLYATSIA relocated its activities to Kyiv.

However, this new found transition reflects the foundation’s inherent support and work for the nomadic way of living and continues to carry out its projects both in Eastern Ukraine and internationally.

IZOLYATSIA now opens its representative office in Mariupol in support of its ongoing projects ZMINA and Architecture Ukraine. The foundation will focus on the development of a platform for the exchange of information, experiences and creative energy.Information on the projects in Mariupol will be updated on the foundation’s website, in its social networks and through newsletters. An office base for the local projects is still under negotiation.
